Declaration of conformity with the Dodd.-Frank Act Section 1502 of 2010 (conflict minerals)

The Dodd.-Frank Act is primarily aimed at reforming the law governing the US financial markets. But it also includes disclosure and reporting requirements for US listed companies regarding the use of certain raw materials originating in the Democratic Republic (DR) of Congo or its neighbouring countries. The conflict minerals are, specifically, cassiterite (tin ore) columbite tantalite (Coltran, tantalum ore) gold and tungsten. The Dodd-Frank Act aims, among other things, to restrict or prevent trade in these minerals, which originate from these areas of conflict.

LB MetallService AG supports the demands for sustainability and transparency formulated under the “Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection” (Dodd Frank Act Section 1502 of 2010 concerning conflict minerals). This results in special due diligence requirements for the raw materials of tin, tantalum, gold and tungsten and their derivatives.

As a supplier of stainless steel and metals, we directly import neither these types of minerals nor the so-called “conflict minerals”.

In this regard, we have presented our main suppliers with the requirements and can confirm that none of the metals listed above are derived from one of the conflicting countries specified on the list. However, we would point out that all metal smelters use metals from recycled or scrap sources of supply.

Our suppliers are obliged to ensure complete traceability and transparency for the products they deliver. Many of our manufacturers provide information about the origin and mineral sources of supply on their websites.

Note: This Declaration of Conformity is based on information provided by our suppliers. Even if we consider this to be reliable, we do not guarantee the accuracy and completeness of the data, recommendations and information contained therein. This statement has been drawn up and published on the basis of the current laws, rules and to the best of our knowledge and current knowledge of the regulations, directives and status of technological development.
