Code of Conduct for Suppliers


LB MetallService AG (LBMS AG) complies with high ethical business standards. LBMS AG calls on its suppliers to comply with this Code of Conduct and to maintain ethical integrity when conducting business. In addition, LBMS AG and the supplier may agree on further standards within the framework of the supply agreements.

Human Rights

In accordance with applicable ethical principles and regulations, LBMS AG requires its suppliers to:

  • show respect for personal dignity, personality rights and privacy of each individual.
  • refuse to employ someone or make them work against their will
  • not tolerate any conduct of a sexual, violent, threatening, abusive or exploitative nature, including gestures, verbal expressions and physical contact

Fair Working Conditions and Child Labour

The supplier has to ensure fair working conditions. In particular,

  • refrain from discrimination in the workplace on the grounds of sex, colour, ethnicity, religion, disability, union membership, political affiliation or sexual orientation. All applicable laws concerning discrimination in the workplace are respected;
  • not to use forced or compulsory labour and give all employees the opportunity to leave their employment freely;
  • respect the right of employees to organise themselves and conduct collective bargaining;
  • to ensure employees receive fair remuneration that complies with local wage regulations and/or collective agreements. Where no such provisions exist, to pay employees a sufficient amount to at least cover their basic needs;
  • to only allow a maximum number of working hours, including overtime, that does not exceed sixty (60) hours per week, except in the case of major emergencies; the company should also allow employees the option of having at least one (1) uninterrupted day off per week.

The supplier will not tolerate or use child labour that does not comply with the applicable laws and regulations.

Occupational Health and Safety

The supplier provides all its employees with a safe and healthy workplace.

Ecological Responsibility

The supplier is committed to environmental protection and shall conduct its business in a way that respects natural resources.

Business Ethics

The supplier strives to conduct business in an ethical manner in accordance with all the applicable rules and regulations. In particular, the supplier shall

  • refrain from any and all forms of bribery and blackmail;
  • comply with the applicable antitrust and competition laws and not partake in any price rigging or collusive bidding;
  • inform LBMS AG of all available data on conflicts of interest. This includes, among other things, the disclosure of financial interests of LBMS employees

The supplier is obligated to protect all information provided by LBMS AG and its business partners.

Sourcing by the Supplier

LBMS AG expects its suppliers and subcontractors to conduct their business activities in accordance with the principles set out in this Code of Conduct and to likewise demand the same from their suppliers and subcontractors.

Formal Obligation

By submitting an offer to LBMS AG or by entering into a contractual relationship with LBMS AG, suppliers and subcontractors undertake to comply with the principles of this Code of Conduct.
